Bali, probably the most well know island getaway and on top of so many bucket lists. It’s known as one of Asia’s paradise with its mix of volcanoes, rice paddies and white beaches.
So being just a 2 hour & something flight away from Bali we had to go check it out. With my sister in town from the States, this was a great opportunity to go. Our trip consisted of three days at the Hilton Bali @ Nusa Dua. The resort has a private beach, massive pools and we were told has halal food but just isn’t certified.

We didn’t really do a crazy amount in Bali and that’s because we wanted a vacation that was more on the relaxing side. Bali can get ridiculously hot and getting to a lot of sights takes a fair amount of driving. Since none of us really wanted to be out in the heat too much.
Day one in Bali was a mix of lounging on the beach and seeing the Uluwatu Temple. Its quite a famous temple where it sits right on the side of a seaside cliff and also the Kecak dance takes place at night in the grounds. The only thing I wish I knew about Uluwatu Temple is that not only do you have to walk through a forested area inhabited by monkeys but they also roam around the temple grounds. These guys some may find cute but they will steal your stuff. I was one of those unfortunate souls who had a monkey climb on them and get her sunglasses stolen right off my face 😨.
On day two we went to see the Tegenungan Waterfall, Goa Gajah cave temple and to the Tegalalang rice terrace. I think the rice terraces are probably one of the coolest things to do in Bali especially with the swings. But if I were to go back to Bali I wouldn’t do Tegalalang but instead Jatiluwih since it’s a UNESCO site. The swings are awesome though, a little freaky at first but pretty cool to see the rice terrace from up high.

On our last day we were so exhausted with dealing with the heat that we just decided to chill by the beach and pool since our flight was in the evening.
So there you have it! A quick mini getaway to Bali. Hope you enjoyed all the photos!
