Right in the heart of bustling Bugis, Sticky Rice serves up some amazing authentic Thai food. Definitely my favourite Thai restaurant in SG. This past year, its become both mine and my hubby’s most frequented restaurant. I would say we eat at Sticky Rice every other week. Aside from being super authentic they’re super affordable too!
Because we are creatures of habit, we usually order the same dishes – Tom Yum fried rice, mango salad, grilled beef salad, Thai milk tea and coconut ice cream.
Although these are our ultimate favourite dishes, we have tried plenty of other items on the menu, all of which are really good. Other dishes I’d recommend include green curry, fish cakes, tofu larb (salad), chicken larb, sunny beef (pictured above), Pad Thai, Kang Kong and finally, the mango sticky rice for dessert.
As you can tell, there are a lot of dishes to try so there’s something for everyone really. If you are in a group and can’t decide, they have platters that serve 2-3 people and include some of their popular dishes. In case your tolerance for spice is low, don’t worry – you can ask for them to make the food less spicy because some of the dishes can be super hot!
Also, they do takeaway bento boxes if you work or live nearby. Check out their menu for all their items here.
The restaurant has two seating areas – the one upstairs is air-conditioned and the one downstairs is partially open air. Since its a relatively small restaurant, you have to order at the counter. Service is also pretty quick, even during peak hours.
Side note: If you’re going just for the mango sticky rice, you might want to call ahead of time as they don’t always have mango in stock!
They are Halal Certified just in case you were wondering 🙂
